a bit more about

Macy's story

I was 15 years old when I started taking the birth control pill. I desperately sought relief from period problems, and my doctor told me the pill would solve them all. In my mid 20's I realized the pill was part of the problem and NOT the solution.

My digestion suffered the worst, I even went as far as having a perfectly functioning gallbladder removed in hopes I would find relief, yet again I was left with more problems than answers. Soon after, I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on a medication that would help my debilitating anxiety and my IBS symptoms. I told my doctor I was going to school to be a dietitian and my goal was to wean off of the medication using a more holistic approach. She laughed and said, you can certainly try, but every patient that's tried to come off this medication has called me begging for another prescription. There it was, the fire that was lit, the burning desire to prove her wrong. I invested in myself and my health and figured out what my body needed to thrive without the bandaid of pharmaceuticals.

In my late 20's came my fertility journey. I knew it had taken a big hit from years on hormonal birth control, mismanaged/undiagnosed PCOS, and severe gut dysbiosis. I spent 3 years preparing for my body for pregnancy. It paid off and I became pregnant with my son, but then another curveball, a gestational diabetes diagnosis. After a few days of sulking, I felt empowered and challenged to take control of this new diagnosis that was no fault of my own. I successfully managed my blood sugar levels and was able to have an unmedicated birth of a healthy 6 lbs 12 oz baby boy.

Unfortunately in November 2022 I lost my second pregnancy, another devastating diagnosis that was completely out of my control. I realized early on in my health journey, that what was happening "to me" was actually happening "for me". I knew I was meant to help women through these same or similar struggles and have been collecting personal experience along the way. What better way to walk another woman through her journey, than to walk with her?

As I type this I am currently pregnant with my 3rd pregnancy, and of course nothing worth having comes easy. I spent the first 3 months with severe hyperemesis gravidarum, and currently in my second trimester powering through preterm labor with a shortened cervix.

I'm proud of my journey and my body thus far. I've gained invaluable tools and lessons along the way. Health is an investment, and we have nothing if we don't have our health.

It can be overwhelming, but don't let it be, let me guide you and support you through your unique journey.

Meet Katie

I'm a Functional Medicine Dietitian, Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).

I'm no stranger to the confusion, frustration and complete desperation with health struggles. Especially when it comes to hormones and blood sugar balance. Once I started asking more questions and researching, I learned how to address my own symptoms in order to find the root cause and heal my body without conventional medicine.

My passion is to partner with clients and teach not only what the body needs but why it matters specifically to you. I'll help you implement healing techniques that include hormone balancing, gut healing, nutrient repletion and anti-inflammatory work that you can merge into your reality of daily life.
